Chapter 2 of the Curious Researcher March 13, 2012

What is one thing that you have taken from this chapter that you will use in your Disciplinary Literacies paper?

After reading this chapter, I know how to use my resources to discover information on my topic. It showed me what search engines I can use and reminded me I can do advanced searches in Google to be more in depth. It also gave me certain library databases I can put my keywords into for my paper, putting the most important words in parentheses and separating terms by the words AND or OR, depending on how I want the results to be grouped. I also am going to try to avoid commercial websites, which have ads and end in .com because these are usually not as reliable of sources, for they are not government or organization run. Instead, I will go to websites that end in .org, .gov, etc.
I probably won't follow the survey or interview methods. Surveying would have to involve a large enough sample and I don't feel I have enough time for that. Interviewing helps you get on a more personal level with someone who relates to your topic, but I am going to rely more on facts for my paper.
