what is one thing that you have taken from this chapter that you will use in your disciplinary literacies paper?
One thing that I have taken away from chapter two is the pyramid that was shown in relation to your research sources. It began with general encyclopedia information and followed all the way down to scholarly articles. Since I am still doing some research on my topic I found it interesting as to how you should start with the general details of your topic and add in more key words to narrow your search to lead you to the more scholarly articles. The other thing that I found helpful was one you found a site to source was making sure that it was credible. To do so you needed to start with whether it had an author or not, then leading you down further and further through different things (like if it was peer reviewed) and the further you went down in the list the less likely that your source would be credible.
Something that I did not find helpful was the portion on interviews. This is mainly because I will not be using an interview in my research paper, therefore the information was not relevant to me. If I had been however, I would have thought that how he broke down the steps to creating a valid and helpful interview would have been a great resource.
