How can social issues, such as race and religion affect how someone views a certain genre of music?
- These social issues can affect how somone views a certain type of music. If they think that all rap is just African American, then other races will not listen to it. People have to be open to view all music as open and anybody can listen to it. People that are very religious might not listen to death metal or rap due to the context of hte songs. I think that people will view music how they want to regardless of what other people say about it. Race can play a big role in music. Country music is almost all white and that would make other people view that as that way.

Do certain genres of music reflect a particular population where it is unacceptable to step outside those boundaries?
-I think that certain types of music portray a population of people, but many step outside this stereotype. A lot of rap talks about womanizing men and drugs, but that does not mean that all people who listen to it have to be like that. I think that it would be odd for a death metal listener to be a religious person, but it is possible. I think that most music is for anybody, and that most people will listen to whatever they want.
