Technology
In this article, McDermott is trying to express how technology has taken over the main role in peoples lives across the country. He is explaining even though we have created so many opportunities and progress with this technology, it really isn't helping us out in the end. Technology has turned into almost a drug for people these days. The children are starting to get cellphones in elementary school now, and this could lead to the future failure of personal communication. I agree with this article in its stressing of the dangers of the technology advancements. This argument is extremely prevalent to us college students.
