·· What is
de Beauvoir's argument in this essay?
· She is
arguing how woman have always been inferior to men, and how we are always
second best to men. She talks about how in the past and in myths, that women
have always been wrong compared to men who are always right. It also argues how
women are imperfect men. We are always others compared to men.
· In what
way is de Beauvoir's argument nuanced? As we have previously discussed, in what
way is her argument strengthened because of this nuance?
·
Her argument is proven, but not beaten over the
head because she use example from the past and from mythological stories, this
only makes her point and argument proven, but isn't fighting with what other
people may say. This strengthens her argument because it is hard to disagree
when she has so many likely answers to her argument.
