Was this a one-time situation/incident or is this going on in any genres today?
I think that this situation does still go on today. Rap music is a great example of this. Whenever someone is heard listening to a rap song they are usually judged to be a certain kind of person. Some rap songs do have negative messages, but in actuality many rap songs have positive messages and most people that listen to rap are not bad people. Sometime rap, and the people that listen to it, are unfairly judged just because of stereotypes.
In what way is disco music making a comeback today?
Disco is making a comeback today in club and techno musics. You could also say that some dubstep songs draw inspiration from disco. They all have the same upbeat rhythms that you can dance to.
