Music: Rock VS. Disco

What kinds of music "battle" today? - Today, Rap/Hip Hop, Dance, and Alternative Rock are (in my mind) the top three genres. As a fourth, I would say country is also a very popular genre. If you flip through radio stations, these tend to be popular types of music. I am a huge fan of all 4 and if I had to choose a favorite, I would have an extremely difficult time doing so. The most recent is "dance" or club music (example might be like dub step). I don't know of any of these genres will fade out any time soon, from the looks of it they won't be going anywhere which I'm very glad about. Are rock and disco still around today? Give examples. - Yes rock is most deffinitly still around today, and so is disco but not as clear as rock. Rock has formed to pop culture and is considered "alternative rock" in our generation. I believe it has more of a pop tune to it, but like blink 182 have been a huge and popular rock band as I grew up. Disco I believe is somewhat like dance today, not the same but has formed into this techno/electronic beat and rhythm for today's culture. It is compared to club music, which is today's closest thing to disco.
