Ashley:
 claim: this class made me a better writer in many different ways. One way was identifying an audience.
data: Paper 2 and Paper 3 are the ones that really helped me learn how to do this skill
warrant: All of the discussions we had in class about paper 2 and paper 3 helped me learn how to write and identify an audience.
qualifier: Paper 2 and Paper 3 were the most significant assignments that helped realize how to identify and write to an audience
 rebuttal: I have not gotten my paper 2 and 3 back yet so i do not know if I improved in this aspect
backing: the feedback from other students and the teacher helped me learn this aspect and how to do this.

Taylor:
Data: WOMEN ARE ABLE TO DO A LOT MORE THINGS AND HAVE MORE FREEDOM TODAY THAN THEY HAD YEARS AGO. THEY ARE ABLE TO BE SUCCESSFUL OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSEHOLD AND DO MOST THINGS THAT MEN DO.

Claim: WOMENS ROLES IN AMERICA HAVE CHANGED DRAMATICALLY THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

Warrant: IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT FOR WOMEN TO HAVE THE RIGHTS THEY HAVE TODAY. PEOPLE HAD TO FIGHT AND WAIT A LONG TIME TO GET TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY.

Rebuttal: Men still hold higher power over the years.

Qualifier: Women being able to have the choice of having a child is one of the most significant changed from years ago and today.


Ashleigh:
 Claim: I have improved my writing in two different ways, how to revise a paper and how to identify an audience.
Ground: I had several revising appointments, writing center appointments to help me revise a paper. Paper #2 and #3 taught me to identify an audience.
Warrant: I had a teacher that pushed me to make me a better writer.
Backing: my grades improved once I re-did my paper
Rebuttal: I have not yet re-did my #3 paper, so I don’t know yet if I improved, maybe I did not improve like I thought.
Qualification: paper #2 and paper#3 were the most significant paper that helped me identify an audience, but paper #1 helped me to through and revise in a better way then before.


Steph:
Claim: Society continues to allow the role of a male to triumph over females.
Data: There is not different between the intelligence of a female or a male.
Warrant: Due to this misconception, society continues to allow the male to top the female.
Qualifier: Not all of society believes women are less than men, but overall society together continues to perceive men as the alpha.
Rebuttal: In many cases, women do triumph the male, not every time a women and a man are compared does the man win.
Backing: Women’s pay continues to be less. When competing for a job with a male, they tend to lose the position.
