I disagreed with the author when he said that she was resistance to love. Coming from someone who only reads love stories and loves, watching romantic comedies, i think Pride and Prejudice is a classic romance novel. i have not read any other Jane Austen books, but i just completely disagree with that statement. Jane Austen might not write about the sexual connection in the relationship, but the love store between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth is perfect. there is tragedy and mysteries, and they even end up together in the very end of the book. this novel couldn't be anymore of a love story, so i completely disagree with the author of this chapter. i also think Jane Austen shows the romance in a different way then other authors, and for me it has to do with the time period.
