Gender-how do you understand it better now?

I better understand gender in Jane Austen book now because I learned how she used it. Jane Austen grew up in a time when women had little rights, or not the same rights as men, I thought this chapter would reflect on that. This chapter does not really talk about that, it talks more about the way Jane use gender and manipulation together. It also talked about how the time was different,  things that we do today they would never do in the past. This chapter just gave me better background on the book.
