Gender - How do you understand it better now?
I would not necessarily say that I understand the general idea behind gender, but I do now understand Austen's idea of gender roles and how they play out in each of her books. It is very evident in each of her books that she creates her characters love lives based on her own personal experience. And she puts forth more effort to each of her woman characters plot lines. "Miss Austen seems to be saturated with the Platonic idea that the giving and receiving of knowledge, the active formation of another's character, or the more passive growth under another's guidance, is the purest and strongest foundation of love. " She uses this experience to create love stories based on gender that are unique to her novels.
