Chapter 11

Women would use their gender to their advantage a lot, in the sense that they could use looks as a way to manipulate others.  In Pride and Prejudice for example, the women use their looks as a way to attract men and basically make them their puppets.  Miss Bingly does a lot of this because she bashes other people to up her own status, and she can do so because everyone thinks that she is so beautiful.  Elizabeth knows that Mr. Darcy is in love with her and that he thinks she is so beautiful, but at the time she doesn't feel the same way so she uses this knowledge to her advantage.
