In what ways is this a good autobiography?
I believe that this is a good autobiography in the fact that it was very descriptive. Especially when they talked about having different angles from being an outsider of their homeland, which in turn made them a better writer. The author was also able to create a detailed picture in my mind of how people who have not been back to Bombay only have pieces of what they remember to go off of, not the whole picture, or the mirror as he calls it.
In what ways is this a bad autobiography?
Although he did do a good job describing how there are many fragments that make up the mirror, there were points through out the story that tended to lose me. I suppose that this is because for me the connection between the fist half of the story to the second half did not fully blend together. I do understand that he had to represent his past to show how he had this bits and pieces of information to write his story, but I did not see the fluidity between the two like I had in pieces past.
