Amy
Tan’s “Two Kinds” is a compelling autobiography for many reasons. Her
repetitive diction allows the reader to relate to her. She conveys her message
with vivid detail and imagery, which demonstrates her message and her life
story. With her use of pathos and
powerful emotions her story resonates with the audience. Another way her piece
is compelling is with the common word usage that everybody can relate to. By
sharing her story with a common word language, many people can understand her
story and relate better.
