What about Tan’s piece makes it a compelling autobiography?
I really liked reading Tan’s piece because I thought she was really showing her hardships that she had to face as a young child. With her mother pushing her so hard to be something that she didn’t want to be, was hard for Tan because she didn’t want to disappoint her mother. But I was glad that she finally stood up to her mom and told her how she felt and how she wanted to live her own life. I think this piece is very helpful to young kids or even young adults because Tan really showed people that you should do what you want to do in your life to achieve your ultimate happiness.
