Stone Soup 1/17/12
I think that Barbara Kingsolver's literacy is that she knows going through a divorce doesn't mean she has failed as a parent. I think she has given herself a literacy on how to make a so called "bad thing" into a positive thing. My general reaction to the piece was that I was happy to see that other people don't define divorce as a bad thing. I think it is hard for a child to understand when they are young, but even as she mentioned in her own story about the little girl and how the only time she felt bad about her parent's divorce was when people said they felt sorry for her.
