Stone Soup 1/17/12

The literacy that Barbara Kingsolver describes in her piece, "Stone Soup" is family. She was literate in different parts and types of family. However, she mainly focused on divorce. She discussed the differences, similarities and the different parts of these types of families. Kingsolver also included things about how things work differently for the variety of families and styles.
Something that I disagree with in this piece that a nontraditional family can work. I suppose that for some, it may be a better option than what we would consider to be a traditional family. I feel as though a traditional family is what is right, morally mainly. This is because of how I have been raised and the values that have been enstowed in me. A traditional family is overall more functional and what will create the best lives for their children and the family as a whole.
