"Stone Soup" 1 /17

The piece that we read today entitled "Stone Soup" was very interesting. The literacy that was described within the piece was family dynamics. I believe that she was describing how she became literate within the different styles of families and the differing ways that families operate. I overall enjoyed this piece. I did however disagree with a few things within the story. I did disagree that the majority of people are not sympathetic to divorces and that the children consider it a blessing. I believe that some children after time has passed accept the divorce and become content. I do not think children would ever consider it a blessing from the beginning. This piece was written very well, I enjoyed how it differed from Amy Tan's style of writing. By reading this piece, it helped me get another idea of how a literacy autobiography works.
