"Two Kinds"

Tan's autobiography is compelling is many different ways. She uses intense imagery to draw in her audiences right from the start. Her metaphors connect to audiences because many girls her age feel pressure from their parents to be excellent or in her case, a "prodigy." She portrays her parents in a way that many teenagers can relate to, which makes her an excellent author with a very compelling story.
