Stone Soup

In the short story "Stone Soup", Barbara Kingsolver is describing her literacy with family and the structure of family. My general reaction to this piece was amazement. I was astounded, I really felt that she connected with me. This piece is related to our class because it involves a women's perspective and deliberation of how people view a "perfect family". In this piece I specifically disagree that failed families are divorced, gay, or single parent. I believe that just because it isn't necessarily the norm doesn't mean that it is failed.
